UPDATE: Friday Night Motorcycle Fatality

(MURFREESBORO)  Here is an update on the fatal Friday (6/26/2020) night motorcycle crash that occurred around 6:00 o'clock on the Old Woodbury Pike at Murfreesboro Street.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol's accident report, a Rutherford County Sheriff's deputy witnessed the motorcycle traveling on the Old Woodbury Pike at a high rate of speed.

Occupants in a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck told the trooper that he checked both lanes of traffic before pulling onto the Old Woodbury Pike. Once in the roadway, the sound of a speeding motorcycle was heard. The driver of the pickup truck told police that the front of the motorcycle struck the driver’s door.

28-year old Nicholas Barabas was declared deceased on the scene. He was driving a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 750.

27-year old Sean Pickleseimer, driver of the pickup, was transported by LifeFlight to the Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Both Barabas and Pickleseimer were from Murfreesboro.

The passenger in the Dodge pickup was treated on the scene by paramedics and released.
