(MURFREESBORO) Here's an update on the Saturday night shooting at 2243 Tedder Boulevard. The victim was only grazed by the bullet, according to Murfreesboro Police PIO Larry Flowers.
First responders arrived on-the-scene shortly before 7:00 o'clock Saturday night (9/12/2020) and found a man in his mid 20s with a gunshot wound and lying in the front yard of a home. It was about halfway between Haynes Drive and Tomahawk Trace.
Paramedics from Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services and Murfreesboro Fire Rescue both arrived at the home at the same time.
MFR Captain Steve Ellison said that they helped control the victim's bleeding and left the injured man in the care of Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services.
Those paramedics treated the man for a non life threatening injury, and took him to the ER at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
The shooter was described as being on foot and wearing black clothes and having a backpack.
K-9 units were quickly brought-in while the "scent trail" was still strong, but the suspect was not located.
Detectives are gathering evidence and interviewing persons in the community.
