(RUTHERFORD COUNTY)  Each year the Heart of Tennessee's American Red Cross Chapter sponsors a BATTLE OF THE BADGES blood drive. Not only is this event open to firefighters, police and all first-responders, but to the PUBLIC as well.

Red Cross Executive Director John Mitchell noted, "It is open to anyone in the community to sign up and support the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, and with the blood supply being critically low--this would be a tremendous opportnity to save local lives during the coming summer months.  All venues are open to the public, for everyone. "

The Murfreesboro Red Cross is located at 501 Memorial Blvd., and donors also have the opportunity to give blood there. The Red Cross' advance sign-up enables the community to sign-up in advance, complete the paperwork on-line and make an appointment for the time that fits your schedule.
