Local nonprofit Special Kids recently held its Annual Investor Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday, February 26, at Pinnacle Bank in Murfreesboro to recognize its top investors from 2012.

“What a wonderful evening for us to be able to thank and give back to our investors who give us so much,” said Stephanie Folkmann, Special Kids Director of Development. “Our investors literally keep our doors open and allow us to serve every family in need that comes in our building.”

Special Kids, a local nonprofit that serves children with special needs, invited investors who gave $1,000 or more in 2012 to the organization. Over 75 guests enjoyed dinner provided by long-time Special Kids supporter Jim ‘N Nicks Bar-B-Q of Murfreesboro. The evening commenced with parents Kent and Amy Ayer sharing about how their son, James, had received services at Special Kids and been touched by the organization. The Ayer family was then given the impact Special Kids award for their efforts to help Special Kids by fundraising over $15,000 for their Team James Ayer Force that will participate in the Special Kids Race on March 23.

The event concluded by recognizing the top investors in each investment category. The Top Individual Investor award was a tie between Eddie Davis, Keith Rosbury, and an anonymous investor. The Top Foundation Investor was the Christy-Houston foundation, and the Top Church Partner was First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. The Top Civic Group was given to Charity Circle, and the Top Business Partner was Thomas Nelson.
