A contractor in the area of Walter Hill where construction on the Murfreesboro Greenway is being conducted, reported a sizable theft on Wednesday. Apparently, someone broke into a trailer belonging to GCCS Contractors out of Kentucky that contained tools and an ATV. The trailer was locked and parked on Central Valley Road.

In the theft, a John Deere Gator ATV valued at $8,000 was stolen along with power drills.

After the culprit stole the ATV, they apparently drove it to a clearing where the Gator may have been loaded into a truck. Evidence collected at the scene of the crime looks as if the suspect may be a smoker. A cigarette lighter was left behind, possibly by the subject who stole the ATV.

So far, an arrest has not been made.
