A car accident in Murfreesboro that occurred around 5AM on Wednesday led to a power outage that affected about 1,000 homes.

The wreck occurred on Wednesday morning in the area of South Clark Blvd. and Maymont Drive. Murfreesboro Electrics' Amy Byers told WGNS that power was restored to most of the homes within the first thirty minutes to an hour after the wreck happened. However, some homes on Maymont Drive saw their power out for a slightly longer period of time while crews from the electric department worked to replace a utility pole that was broken in the car crash that was worked by Murfreesboro Police and Fire.
