The haunted hayride through Barfield Park was a huge success this past weekend drawing the biggest crowd on Saturday night. Hundreds of residents showed up to be scared and it evidently worked.

The “Old Scream Road” hayride is held each year in the park. The haunted event is put together by the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department. This year marked the 12-year for the annual event.

Haunted attractions in the month of October are nothing new for the city. In the late 80’s and 1990’s, the Parks and Rec Department utilized the Cox Memorial Gym to host a haunted house. The gym was later torn down and today the Rutherford County Health Department is on the property.
