40 Year old suspect Zebulin Barron barricaded himself within the home. At least one other relative was evacuated then a perimeter was established, and backup was called for by La Vergne Police.

The SWAT teams from both the La Vergne Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene. Negotiators attempted to talk the suspect out of the home. After the suspect refused to come out, through attempts made by negotiators, both SWAT teams were forced to make entry into the home. They found the suspect hiding in a closet and arrested him. The arrest took place at roughly 10am.

Barron was not armed at the time of the arrest. He did offer some resistance to being arrested. No one, including the suspect, was injured. Barron complained of a back injury, however family had already told authorities that Barron was "laid up" with a back injury when they first went to the home early Thursday morning.

The original charges for Barron stemmed from an investigation in Shawnee County, Kansas. The crime was of a sexual nature involving at least one minor 14 years of age or younger. The charges included two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and lewd fondling with a child.
