Beginning Monday, May 22nd, the Stones River National Battlefield visitor center will have consistent hours seven days a week. It will open to the public at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. daily. The gates to the tour road, Stones River National Cemetery, Redoubt Brannan, and McFadden Farm unit will continue to open at 8 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.

Superintendent Brenda Waters said, "The staff at Stones River National Battlefield takes pride in providing the highest level of service to our visitors. This small change in our hours of operation will allow us to continue offering that service while providing a sustainable operation."

This change in visitor center hours will not affect the public's ability to access the park, which will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists from sunrise to sunset with parking available in the visitor center parking lot. All gated areas will continue to open at 8:00 each morning and close at 5:00 that evening.

The visitor center and gated areas will continue to be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
