(MURFREESBORO) A Murfreesboro resident tells police that she may be a victim of identity theft.

Two credit cards were mailed to her Nancy Seward Road home address. She told Officer Roche that neither card had been requested and they were not tied to her bank account.

The bank is closelymonitoring the two credit cards.

Although no suspects have been identfied, the Murfreesboro cyber crimes detective is listing this case under "false pretense, swindle and confidence game".

Murfreesboro Police remind you that your bank will never e-mail or call for you account number. Never wire money to people you do not know. Especially be aware that foreign lotteries are illegal in the United States, and that no matter what they tell--you can not win in the U.S.!

Public Information Officer Larry Flowers notes, "Contact the police if you suspect or think something may be fraud."

The Murfreesboro Police non-emergency number is 615-893-1311.
