BIG UH-OH: Murfreesboro Massage Businesses Shut Down And One Charged With "Promoting Prostitution"

Friday night, Detectives with the Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Vice Section and agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation served search warrants at two massage businesses in Murfreesboro.

Investigators began looking into these businesses after complaints of illegal sexual activity and impersonation of licensed professionals at these locations. Lead Detective David Harrison, in cooperation with the TBI, obtained search warrants for "Health Massage" located at 925 South Church Street and "Chinese Therapeutic Massage" located at 1520 Memorial Blvd. Additionally, a Rutherford County court ordered the business "Health Massage" closed and the operators restrained from accessing the property under the public nuisance law.

The search warrants were executed this past Friday night and resulted in the seizure of evidence at each location. Additionally, almost $8,000 in cash and $36,000 from a bank account was seized from the "Health Massage" and $11,000 in cash from "Chinese Therapeutic Massage".

One person was arrested on four counts of "Promoting Prostitution" and two people were charged with "Impersonating a Licensed Professional" at the "Health Massage".

Two people were charged with "Impersonating a Licensed Professional" at the "Chinese Therapeutic Massage".

The investigation will proceed as detectives examine the evidence and work with the District Attorney's office on additional criminal charges.
