At the stroke of noon Saturday, Bill Lee became Tennessee's 50th governor during a ceremony inside the War Memorial Auditorium. Once the judge completed his part, the audience went wild with cheering and applause.

This is the first political effort for the Franklin business entrepreneur.

During the inaugural address, some of this state's highest past and present politicians from both parties were prominently seen in the audience.

Bill Lee's faith was a strong part of the almost two-year long political campaign. As a result, prior to being sworn into office, he attended a packed worship service at the Grand Ole Opry House where well known Christian musicians performed. Nearly 2,700 person were estimated to have been there.

The inauguration was originally planned for outside at the Legislative Plaza, but winter weather changed that.

It's going to be a late evening for the Lee family and their supporters. Two inaugural balls are on the agenda Saturday night in Nashville.
