Blackman Boys Stone the Panthers

An 8-nothing start for Stone Memorial to open the game looked like trouble for Blackman. However, the Blaze battled back to take the halftime lead and they never looked back. Blackman defeated Stone Memorial 69-55 to advance to their third straight Blue Cross Basketball Championships. Reid Pierce was a force in the post, scoring 14 of his 16 points in the first half. With the win, Blackman improves to 25-and-6 and earned their third straight berth to the Blue Cross Basketball Championships, played next week. The boys state tournament draw is this Saturday at 10am from Doubletree Hotel. The boys state tournament begins Wednesday, March 12th for Triple-A teams. WGNS will be there with our microphones as part of State Farm Prep Sports.
