Boat Capsized--Family Survives Cold Lake!

(Percy Priest Lake) A Rutherford County man and his two sons were rescued from the cold waters of Percy Priest Lake Saturday (2/29/2020) night after their boat capsized.

Wind and waves suddenly arose and capsize the boat capsizing it several hundred yards from the shore.

A fisherman on the bank saw what was happening and called 911.


The father and 9-year old son made it to the opposite bank, while the 16-year old swam to the light of the fisherman.

Brian Peak and his 9 and 16-year old sons went out around 7:15 Saturday night. Officials say that because they were wearing flotation devices, that they are alive today. The family was in the frigid water for approximately one-hour.


Again--all three are alive.
