Schwarz and his wife, Patricia, moved to Murfreesboro in 2008 and has provided consulting services for various manufacturing and professional organizations. Schwarz is a graduate of the 2010 Class of Leadership Rutherford. As a requirement for graduation, Schwarz and team members of Leadership Rutherford selected a local non-profit organization and developed a business plan for the non-profit. Schwarz chose to volunteer his services to Branches Counseling Center after the Leadership Rutherford plan was developed. Schwarz has helped implement that plan for Branches.

"Bob Schwarz is a shinning example of a servant leader," stated Mike Courtney, Founder and Executive Director of the eight year-old non-profit. "Bob has provided invaluable service and consulting expertise for which our Center could not afford to pay. He has lead us in strategic planning and implementation of many of the key points that his Leadership Rutherford team members suggested in their business plan," continued Courtney. "Not only has Bob impacted the strategic direction of Branches but his wife Pat has provided leadership in our backroom operations in the filing and coordination of benefits with the insurance companies with whom we deal. Without Bob and Pat's help Branches would not be experiencing the exceptional growth we have enjoyed since 2010. It is an honor and privilege to welcome Bob as the newest member of our ten-member Board of Directors. As we move to the regional expansion of Branches into several surrounding middle Tennessee counties and the implementation of a capital campaign focused on the purchase/building of a permanent facility for Branches, we are excited what the future holds for our Center," Courtney concluded.

Schwarz joins nine other board members at Branches Counseling Center: Jonas Beiler, Retired Marriage & Family Therapist & Founder of The Family Center of Gap; Walter Chitwood, DDS, Family, Cosmetic, Implant & Restorative Dentistry; Robert Collier, Sales Representative, Certified Laboratories; Mike Courtney, Ph.D., Executive Director and Founder, Branches Counseling Center; Doris Courtney, Director, Branches Counseling Center; David McKnight, MD, OB/GYN Hospitalist Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital; Marcie Richmond, Retired Director of Independent Living, Adams Place Retirement Community; Clifton Sobel, Attorney, Sobel, Poss & Moore, PLLC; Brenda Wunder, Facilities Supervisor, MTSU.
