12th Annual Barfield Halloween Bash kicks off Halloween festivities with haunted holiday festivities, scary and not-so-scary hayrides and carnival.

Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department will host the 12th Annual Barfield Halloween Bash at Barfield Crescent Park in Murfreesboro, TN on October 23 – 26, 2013.

The haunted holiday begins with the “Old Scream Road” on Wednesday, October 23 to Saturday, October 26.  Murfreesboro’s scariest hayride begins at dark, guaranteed to keep you screaming!  Recommended for ages 9 and over. The cost is $5.00 per person.

  • The “Not So Haunted Trail” offers families and little ones a scenic hayride through the backcountry campground where the creatures of the forest come out for a friendly greeting.  This year’s hayride theme will be based on a book about a possum: Anybody Home, by Marianne Berkes. Costing $3.00 person, the hayride will be held on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26, 5:00 – 7:00p.m. Copies of Anybody Home are on sale now at the Wilderness station.
  • The “Carnival,” held on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26, starts at 5:00 p.m. will be packed with carnival games, music, dancing, cake walks, and costume contests. The carnival is free to attend; concessions and game tickets ($.50 each) will be sold until 9:00 p.m.
