(MURFREESBORO) There was a single-vehicle accident with injury that occurred at 4:22 Tuesday morning at the intersection of South Church Street and Broad. The car slammed into the signal control box and shut the traffic light down during morning drive-time.

Throughout the morning, WGNS reminded motorists to take alternate routes, but most of those were onto the side roads--which were slow moving all morning as a result of the excessive traffic.

The teamwork between Murfreesboro police officers, Murfreesboro Fire Rescue, RCEMS, and S & W Traffic Control was tremendous. Thank you for a job well done.
