Murfreesboro Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran reminds motorists that Broad Street, around the Bridge Over Broad project, will be closed starting at 6:00 o'clock Saturday (3/3/2018) morning, and continue closed until 6:00 o'clock Monday (3/5/2018) morning.

He noted that the closure will impact Broad Street and the ramps to and from SR 96 will be closed for final paving operations.

100% Access To Businesses

It was stressed that motorists will still have access to businesses in the impacted area. However, they might have to wait while construction equipment lays the pavement in front of you. Officials say that should be a wait of only a few minutes in each case.

Detours

A detour will be in place during the closure. Traffic will still be able to travel on the bridge on Old Fort Parkway/Memorial Blvd, but will not be able to use the ramps to exit onto Broad Street.

Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Kathryn Schulte explained, "The bridge ramps and Broad Street between Main Street and College Street will be closed to through traffic. There will be a signed detour using Medical Center Parkway and South Church Street."

Sunny skies are in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, but T-DOT notes that work of this type is dependant on good weather and could change in a moment.
