Plan detouring around Broad and the bridge project this coming weekend.

Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Kathryn Schulte told NewsRadio WGNS that the final paving will take place starting at 6:00 o'clock this Saturday morning (3/3/2018) and remain closed to traffic until 6:00 o'clock Monday morning (3/5/2018).

She explained, "The bridge ramps and Broad Street between Main Street and College Street will be closed to through traffic. There will be a signed detour using Medical Center Parkway and South Church Street. The contractor will maintain access to local businesses, but motorists may have to wait for a small period of time while the contractor rolls the new asphalt before cars can safely cross it."

Schulte emphasized, "This work is weather dependent, but right now the forecast looks good."

Again, final paving on Broad Street around the bridge project will take place this weekend. Traffic will be shut-down starting at 6:00 o'clock Saturday morning and continue closed until 6:00 o'clock Monday morning.
