Someone really wanted to get into the liquor store...

Police responded to CNG Wine and Spirits on South Rutherford Boulevard Thursday for an alarm call. Once on the scene, large holes were discovered on the back wall of the store. Police actually made entry into one of the holes.

Once inside the store, officers cleared the business of intruders... no one was located. The Criminal Investigations Division was promptly notified and the owner was called. The owner advised that his safe was damaged and cash that was left inside the safe is now missing. Prajesh Patel also told police that someone cut the wiring to the camera system in the store.

The doors to the business were all left untouched and secure. The burglar or burglars evidently made their way into and out of the store through the holes that were cut in the back wall of the business.

The burglary that will cost Mr. Patel over $8,500 is under investigation. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.
