Burglars believed riding on four-wheelers were accused of stealing tools and garden equipment from outbuildings last week in the Cainsville Pike area, a Rutherford County Sheriff’s detective said.

Property was stolen from the outbuildings on Rhodes Lane , Oregon Road off 12 Corners and Cainsville Pike, said Detective Jim Tramel. Burglars took tools, saddles, a four-wheeler, chain saws and miscellaneous garden equipment.

“A homeowner saw two four-wheelers driving up the road,” Detective Tramel said. “The four wheelers were seen at one of the homes.”

The burglars may be related to similar crimes occurring in the Norene community of Wilson County where white males were seen in a gray two-door mid-sized car.

People who have information about the suspects are asked to call Detective Tramel at 904-3055.

Citizens who own outbuildings should keep the units locked and move expensive equipment inside a home or garage, the detective recommended. People who have alarms should set the device since an alarm deters burglars.

People who see suspicious vehicles in neighborhoods should call the Sheriff’s Office at 898-7770 so a deputy can check out the vehicle and its occupants.
