Little has been said about 28 year old Shermane Robertson who was shot his past weekend at a home on Castle Street. Murfreesboro Police responded to 442 East Castle on Saturday where they found Robertson face down in the driveway. Apparently, the man was shot over gambling winnings that the suspect was allegedly trying to steal.

Officers apprehended 20 year old John Leach III on Wednesday afternoon for reportedly shooting Robertson a total of nine times in an effort to steal his money on Saturday. Robertson was said to have been shot twice in the back as he turned to run from Leach while throwing his recent winnings on the ground. After Robertson fell to the ground, he was shot seven more times.

It is believed that several other men were involved in the conspiracy to rob the victim, but additional arrests have not been confirmed. Robertson is at Vanderbilt Medical Center at this time and his condition will not be released due to the fact that he was the victim of a violent crime. Leach was charged with attempted first degree murder, criminal conspiracy, especially aggravated robbery and violating his probation.

The suspect was placed under a $300,000 bond at the loca jail, but if he comes up with the cash it won't help him make it out the door. On top of his bond their is a "hold" on Leach for the violation of probation charge.
