The Rutherford County Fire – Rescue department had a busy morning on Thursday. Engine 102 responded to a car fire on Fann Road in the county. The car that caught fire was directly next to a mobile home and the flames were dangerously close.

Fire Chief Larry Farley told WGNS that the crew from Station 1 was able to quickly knock down the flames before they spread to the victims’ home. We are told that the victim had just purchased the car the day before. It was a used vehicle and it is not known if it was insured.

No one was injured in the blaze that was completely out by 7:30, Thursday morning.
