Carhartt and Nissan in TN making Face Masks and Gowns

CARHARTT - CAMDEN, TN:

Another Tennessee factory is helping in the fight against COVID-19. Carhartt is preparing for the production of personal protective equipment for our health care workers and critical personnel on the front lines of COVID-19.

Carhartt, a company known for coats, coveralls and other outdoor clothing, is focusing production on protective masks and gowns during a nationwide shortage of both right now. The company has production facilities in Camden, Tennessee and also over the border in nearby Kentucky.

During WWI and WWII, the same company re-tooled and manufactured uniforms for American Troops.

NISSAN - SMYRNA, TN:

In response to COVID19, the plants of Nissan in both Smyrna and Decherd, Tennessee are using 3D printing to produce headbands and face shields to donate to local healthcare workers who need protective gear. More than 3,000 face shields were sent out on April 3rd, and they are currently assemblling more than 1,000 shields per week moving forward.
