More Christmas thefts in the news, this time at Walmart on South Rutherford Boulevard in Murfreesboro.

A cashier who was once employed at the store has been arrested. Ashly Carroll has been accused by the store loss prevention office of stealing merchandise.

A police report shows that Carroll allegedly allowed friends to visit her line and she reportedly failed to scan items they were shopping for. Instead of scanning the merchandise, she allegedly placed it into a Walmart bag for them to leave with. At this point, it appears as if the theft adds up to nearly $700.

Carroll was arrested and transported to the local jail.
