A 20-year old Castle Street woman was shot in the 500 block of State Street. The victim, Elizabeth Lamb of East Castle Street, was taken to the St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital ER after the shooting Saturday morning around 12:45.

Officer Richard Whitley responded to the scene after a 9-1-1 call of several shots fired on East State Street. When Murfreesboro Police arrived at the local hospital, they were preparing to send Lamb to Vanderbilt Hospital due to the extent of her injuries.

Later in the day, just before midnight Saturday, Officer Kyle Frazier was called to the area of Castle and Eaton Streets in reference to a verbal altercation. One of the individuals nearby was LaJames Marable. Officer Frazier realized he was wanted for the incident involving Lamb. That's when Marable reportedly took off on foot.

During the foot chase, Officer Frazier reported Marable drew his gun on him. The 18-year old stumbled and the officer was able to tackle him to the ground. Frazier reported Marable resisted arrest, but he was eventually taken into custody. The firearm was also recovered.

Marable was charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and evading arrest. Bond was set at over 222-thousand dollars and a date in General Sessions Court was set for November 24th.
