Need a cat? Ok, you may not NEED a cat but you may want one.

Throughout the month of June the Pet Adoption and Welfare Services office in Murfreesboro will let you adopt a cat or a kitten at YOUR price. Michael Gregory, the director of PAWS told WGNS the “Name your own price” adoption program is popular and they aim to find new homes for many of their cute, cuddly cats. June is the official “Adopt-a-Shelter Cat Month.”

Gregory told WGNS, “All of the cats available will be spayed or neutered, current on their rabies vaccination, feline distemper vaccination and have a feline leukemia test performed.” Gregory stated, “We encourage folks to come to the shelter to pick out the perfect cat or kitten to add to their family.”

Gregory adds, “Cat and kitten intakes continue to overwhelm the shelter.  We urgently need the public’s help in adopting animals from the shelter.”

Rutherford County PAWS adoption hours are Monday-Friday, 12:00-5:30 and Saturdays 11:00-1:30.
