Chamber's Business at Its Best

The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Annual Business at Its Best played to a packed ballroom Thursday at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center.

The changing of the guard took place as outgoing chairman of the board welcomed his replacement. 2017 chair was Dr. David Urban, who heads MTSU's Jones College of Business. The 2018 chairman is Lou Caputo of TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center.

Thirteen-thousand new jobs were created in Rutherford County last year (2017), and the chamber is going to continue to focus on tourism and workforce development.

In addition, the special honorees included Business Legend of the Year Bill Jones, Business Person of the Year John Black and Leadership Rutherford Pinnacle Award Winner Teb Batey.

The outgoing chamber board members were applauded for the exceptional jobs they have done over the years. Those retiring were Chair Kathy Jones, Membership Council Chair Sheri Morgan, and Director Mark Swenson.
