Chevrolet has really gone to the dogs, sponsoring "Dog Day", Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Pet Adoption & Welfare Services (PAWS) of Rutherford County.

Those looking for a new, forever companion will be able to adopt a dog from PAWS at no cost (up to 20), thanks to Chevrolet's sponsorship.

"We are proud and excited to be partnering with PAWS for this wonderful event that not only helps our furry friends, but also brings our community together," Chevrolet Murfreesboro owners, Jennifer & Bo Trivett tells PAWS. "We hope to find the adoptable dogs their forever homes and have fun in the process!"

"Dog Day" activities include: free dog washes from My 4 Dogs, dog training Q&A with Wag It Better, complimentary professional pet photos by K. Schulz Photography and on-site vendors, like Licker & Whine. All guests may also enter to win prizes, and the first 200 dog owners will receive a free goodie bag with gifts from local sponsors.

Free car washes and a complimentary cook out will take place at the Chevrolet Murfreesboro dealership on this day as well.

In addition, the first 20 adopters from PAWS will receive free first vet exams from Brogli-Lane-Weaver-Alexander Animal Hospital, sponsored by Chevrolet, and free PetSmart start up adoption packages.

All adoptable pets are already spayed or neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Visit the PAWS of Rutherford County or Chevrolet Buick GMC of Murfreesboro Facebook pages for more information. PAWS is located at 285 John R. Rice Blvd. in Murfreesboro.
