The state Department of Health is reporting at least 12 confirmed cases of chikungunya in Tennessee. Right now, all of those infected have traveled to the Caribbean and contracted it there. Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne illness that causes fever, nausea, vomiting, muscle pain, rashes and joint point. It is not deadly but very debilitating.
