Christiana Girls, Rockvale Boys RuCo Middle School Champions

The Christiana girls and Rockvale boys claimed the Rutherford County Middle School Tournament championships Thursday night.

The Lady Cougars, the tournament's three-seed, held off Blackman to win the game 50-49. Alasia Hayes led Christiana with 24 points. Aislynn Hayes had 17. The Lady Flames were led by Jaida Bond's 22 points. Nia Vanzant chipped in 14 and Joelle Patton had 11.

The Rockvale Ravens claimed the boys championship, defeating defending champion Oakland 46-31. The Ravens were led by Mari Stoudemire's 18 points. Maliek McAllister added 15. The Chargers' Jaden Jameson had 12 points.
