Drinking and driving problems continue to plague Rutherford County. 59-Year old Christine Tenpenny of Christiana was questioned on South Rutherford Boulevard after she was said to be involved in a motor vehicle crash. Police say Tenpenny had an odor of alcohol when they spoke to her and slurred speech. She also failed a field sobriety test.

When Murfreesboro Police ran a quick license check on Tenpenny, it was revealed that she had three prior DUI's. She also had two open bottles of wine in her truck, according to the MPD Arrest Report filed on Monday night.

During the arrest procedure, Tenpenny refused to submit to a blood alcohol test that required her to give a sample of her blood. Officer Brown obtained a warrant for her blood and once she was in cuffs and at the local jail, that sample was drawn by needle and then sent to the state for testing. The results will be ready by her court date of November 25, 2014.

Tenpenny was charged with DUI number four, driving on a revoked license, violation of the implied consent law and for having two open containers of wine in her pickup.

Tenpenny was released from the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on Tuesday morning.
