It's beginning to look alot like Christmas, especially after Main Street's outstanding tree lighting on the historic Murfreesboro square Friday night (12/2/2016).

The east side of the courthouse was packed with thousands of excited youngsters awaiting the opportunity to see Santa. Favorite Yuletide songs, the lighting of the giant Christmas tree and more--made the evening special.

Brittney Spencer and MTSU's Generation of Purpose Gospel Choir set the festive mood. The list included both the Central Magnet and Cason Lane Academy choirs.

Then students from Jimmie Lou Tate's Dace School offered a mix of holiday dance creations.

Plus, thespians from the Murfreesboro Center for the Arts performed a segment from "The Christmas Schooner" that runs through December.

Once the stage entertainment ended, Santa and Mrs. Claus went inside the foyer of the Rutherford County Courthouse for photos with St. Nick beside the giant Christmas tree.

Again, a special thank you to the Murfreesboro Main Street Program for continuing this Christmas tradition.
