Clarksville Suspects May Have Ties To Rutherford County

(CLARKSVILLE) Shortly after 3:00 o'clock last Saturday (12/14/2019) afternoon two men wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at Walmart in Clarksville, fled the store. On Wednesday 12/18/2019) the suspects abandoned a car that was allegedly stolen from Rutherford County and fled on foot.

The man and woman involved in the shoplifting incident in which a firearm was displayed were spotted again Wednesday (12/18/2019).

Officers spotted the vehicle in the area of Wilma Rudolph Blvd and Morris Drive. They attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled so recklessly, placing the public in danger, the decision was made not to pursue.

Around 3:25 Wednesday afternoon, a call came into Clarksville's 911 about a man chasing a woman into the woods around Fair Brook Place and a shot being fired.

When officers arrived they found the same Ford Fusion which had fled earlier, unoccupied and abandoned.

The area was quickly cordoned off, officers and K-9 along with a THP helicopter were utilized to search for the couple. They were not located and there was no indication anyone had been shot.

It was discovered the Ford Fusion had been stolen last night out of Rutherford County. Also, there were items linking the couple to the Sango Walmart incident.

The woman has been identified as 28-year old Christina Mahalie.

There is a tentative ID on the male, but it has not been confirmed. He has a large amount of tattoos around his neck with a tattoo forming sideburns. Also, both hands have very visible tattoos.

They were last seen around the Wilma Rudolph Blvd area around Fair Brook Pl (Exit 4).

They are most likely looking for a vehicle to steal since they are now on foot.

Since the getaway car was reportedly taken from Rutherford County, there may be ties here. Police warn that they should be CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
