Largely obligatory meetings of both the Rutherford County Commission as well as the Murfreesboro City Council on Thursday, June 13th.  At the commission, the group issued 4 resolutions of recognition honoring local state athletic champions, including Middle Tennessee Christian School for doubles tennis, Oakland High School’s Brock Baker for track, the Riverdale girls 800 meter relay team, and the Smyrna High School softball team.  A lease for a communications tower on Hutson Road was also approved, as well as renovations for that same tower, and a drainage easement was approved for Olive Branch Estates.  Across the street at council, the entire meeting lasted a total of 12 minutes, and consisted of almost entirely second readings of already voted on material, with one exception; two public hearings had to be scheduled, one to rezone acreage along Memorial Boulevard to commercial district, and the other to amend 12 acres also along Memorial.  Both hearings are scheduled for July 11th.
