One of the ideas that has been tossed around includes a lite rail system between Murfreesboro and Nashville. Other talks suggested a monorail while some lawmakers have suggested a commuter train between Atlanta and Nashville.

WGNS was told the lawmakers will be joined by Steve Bland, Chief Executive Officer of the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Regional Transportation Authority; Michael Skipper, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Planning Organization; Ernest Burgess, Rutherford County Mayor; Dr. Ken Moore, Mayor of Franklin and Chairman of the Middle Tennessee Mayors Caucus; Marc Hill, Chief Policy Officer of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce; Jason Spain, Executive Director of the Tennessee Public Transportation Association and officials from the Tennessee Department of Transportation and Mayor Megan Barry's office.
