Congrats to MTCS - School Wins $25,000 | MTCS, Middle Tn Christian, Christian School, Murfreesboro news

Middle Tennessee Christian School will receive a $25,000 grant from State Farm on Wednesday, December 10 in a surprise presentation to the student body. The grant will be awarded as a finale to State Farm's Celebrate My Drive campaign that ran from October 15-24. During these dates, teens, parents, faculty, staff, and community members went online and committed to safe driving in support of Middle Tennessee Christian.

Celebrate My Drive promotes responsible driving practices like "2N2: 2 eyes of the road and 2 hands on the wheel." The program engages teens and the adults who influence them to have supportive and positive conversations about safe driving. Celebrate My Drive is a different approach to a leading public health risk. It's a community celebration of safe driving habits emphasizing the benefits of safe choices as teens celebrate the freedom that comes with getting a driver's license.

"We are thrilled about receiving this grant," said MTCS President, Dr. Phil Ellenburg. "But we are also excited about programs that help keep our students safe. Everyone involved really responded to the call to vote for MTCS during this important safe driving campaign."

The school plans to use the funds, along with funding provided by the MTCS Patrons' Association to create a new student gathering commons. The collaboration space will be used for independent study, fellowship, small group meetings and will be technology friendly.

Middle Tennessee Christian School is an independent school serving close to 700 students from Rutherford and surrounding counties in pre-school through the twelfth grade. MTCS is one of only a select few schools in Tennessee which are triple accredited by AdvancED, the Southern Association of Independent Schools, and the National Christian School Association. Since 1962, MTCS had been equipping students - spirit, mind and body - for spiritual growth, academic achievement and personal development through athletics and the arts.
