For the 8th time a Smithville man has been arrested for "Driving on a Revoked License." 45-Year old Michael Edward Brown was arrested in Murfreesboro in the area of Mercury Boulevard. He was originally stopped for a registration violation. Evidently, the tags came back to a different vehicle.

During the traffic stop Murfreesboro officers asked Brown if he would consent to a search, which he did. That was when officers found 10 Oxycodone, a prescribed pain killer, in his pocket. Officers then asked Brown if there was anything illegal in the truck he was driving. The report read, "He stated that there was a firearm in the center console and admitted to being a convicted felon which was confirmed by a criminal history." Police then found 19 more Oxycodone pills in the truck when they retrieved the .38 Smith & Wesson revolver.

Before police took Brown away in handcuffs, Vice units seized his vehicle.

In addition to Brown facing his 8th "Driving on a Revoked License" charge, he was also charged with "Felony Possession of a Schedule Two Drug, a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony." Brown will appear in court this October.
