A Murfreesboro man has been arrested and charged with three counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery. 32-year old William J. Young, who is already a convicted sex offender, was arrested late last week after allegedly touching a 9-year old child while inside the Linebaugh Library.

Police responded to the library where they spoke to the small child and her mother about what was described in a police arrest report as a sexual assault against the child. When the mother confronted Young in the library, the report shows that he quickly fled the scene. After the mother boldly confronted the suspect and he ran the police responded to the scene where they gathered information and then tracked Young to a local motel.

It was at the Regal Inn, a motel known to be used by a large number of sex offenders, that officers took Young into custody. Young was placed behind bars at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center under a $150,000 where he remains today. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 21, 2013.

Young was previously convicted in 2001 for the molestation of a child while in Georgia. He later made his way to Murfreesboro where his current address is listed as the Regal Inn on South Church Street.
