Dangerously Cold Weather This Week

The coldest weather of the season will invade Rutherford County and Middle Tennessee this week. Artic air is on the way for midweek that will plunge temperatures to near zero overnight Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to remain below the freezing mark of 32-degrees from Tuesday night through Friday afternoon. The winds will make the "feels like" temperature even colder. Even some snow showers are in the forecast for Wednesday morning, but if there's any accumulation, it will be very light.

A reminder to make sure your outside pets are brought indoors and your water pipes are protected from the cold temperatures. Also, it's a good idea to check doors and windows to make sure they're sealed properly to keep the cold air out of your home.

When venturing out into the cold weather, it's best to dress in layers, covering as much of your body as possible and avoid extended periods in the elements as possible.
