Darnell "Deuce" Mayer Shot, Flown To Vanderbilt

(MURFREESBORO) A Murfreesboro man who has survived gun violence in the past was shot yet again early Thursday morning.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired call around 2:15AM at Greenland East Apartments at 816 Greenland Drive, and found the victim, Darnell Mayer AKA "Deuce", laying in front of the complex with multiple gunshot wounds.

Personnel with Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS), with assistance from Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department, began treating the 49-year old Murfreesboro resident t-the-scene.


"Deuce" Mayer was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center via Life Flight helicopter where he underwent surgery. He is listed in stable condition.

Detectives are looking for the shooter and a dark colored sedan seen speeding away after the shooting.
