There is a new scam around every corner, or so it seems. A 53-year old Murfreesboro resident told police she had recently been conversing with a man on a dating website who randomly sent her a check for $850,000. The man told the woman to deposit the check and then deposit some of the money into his account.

The victim did not fall for the trick and notified the authorities. She also ceased her conversation with the man who went by the name of David Martin. At this point, an arrest has not been made and the victim did not go on a date with the culprit.
