DCS took custody of a child inside Walmart on South Rutherford Boulevard after a man and a woman were caught shoplifting.

Reports indicate a man and a woman who had a small child with them stole a weedeater, electric cook top, deep fryer and food on Monday evening. The man evidently bagged the grocery items and proceeded to walk out of the store without actually paying for anything.

Both the man and the woman were arrested while the child was turned over to DCS.

Charged with theft were 24 year old Bryan Rodriguez from Shelbyville and 25 year old Kimberly LeVerette, also from Shelbyville.

The duo are scheduled to appear in court June 2, 2016.
