Around 2:00 o'clock Friday (3/31/2017) afternoon, the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office rushed to One Mile Lane near Smyrna on a call about a deceased man.

Sergeant Dan Goodwin told NewsRadio WGNS that they found a deceased 49-year old male in the home, but at this time the circumstances surrounding his death are not known.

The detective noted there was no one at 388 One Mile Lane when they arrived, and the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

He explained, "Any unattended death in Rutherford County is investigated as a homicide until proven otherwise."
