Demos' Family Restaurants Encourage Prayer

Prayer Matters

One family business is encouraging directed conversation on October 28th.

Customers receive a card that says, "On October 28, at 1pm, Demos' and Peter D's restaurants are calling for all people to have a moment of prayer for the leaders and the citizens of the City of Murfreesboro and for Rutherford County."

Peter Demos told WGNS, "As Pastor Allen Jackson has said, the only thing evil will yield to is a force greater than itself. With the amount of hate and anger coming to our City, the only force we know that is greater is the love and peace of Jesus which we can achieve through prayer. We are asking all people to set their alarms at 1pm and just prayer wherever they are for peace."

The printed piece explains, "We are asking each of you to set an alarm to remember to ask God to be with all of us and for peace and clarity. Prayer Matters."

On the opposite side of the card Mother Teresa's "Prayer for Peace" is printed (below).

Lord, make me a channel of your peace,

That where there is hatred,

I may bring love:

Where there is wrong,

I may bring the spirit of forgiveness:

Where there is discord,

I may bring harmony:

Where there is error,

I may bring truth:

Where there is doubt,

I may bring faith:

Where there is despair,

I may bring hope:

Where there are shadows,

I may bring light:

Where there is sadness,

I may bring joy:

Lord, grant I may seek rather

To comfort than to be comforted;

To understand than to be understood;

To love than to be loved;

For it is by forgetting self

That one finds,

It is by forgiving

That one is forgiven,

It is by dying

That one awakens to eternal life.

Amen.
