A 7-year old Coffee County youth died tragically at his home Saturday (6/15/2019) while riding a dirt bike with his father.

WMSR, our Coffee County news partners, reported that a dad and his son were riding a dirt bike in the family yard on Saturday afternoon when they ran into barbed wire that was strung between two trees.

The Coffee County Sheriffs Office reports that the wire wrapped around 7 year old's throat.

The father called 911 and performed CPR on his son until emergency responders arrived at the Hillsboro home. The child was rushed to Unity Medical Center in Manchester where he apparently died a short time later.
