A $2,500 concert speaker set, strobe lights and more were stolen from Concert Productions in Murfreesboro. Evidently, the equipment was rented from a man claiming to be a DJ, but never returned.

The DJ and a female accomplice told workers at the rental company that the audio and lighting equipment was going to be used at an event in Franklin. When police spoke to the owner of the location of the alleged event, the owner said an event was not held in his building on the date in question.

It shouldn't take authorities long to track the suspects down, they used their driver's licenses to rent the audio equipment. The theft is valued at more than $6,000, which places it in the category of a felony.

On a side note, when police spoke the the female suspect, she claimed the man she was with was in possession of the rented equipment. When officers spoke to the male, he claimed the female had the equipment.
