Reported areas with flood waters:

  • Sections along Leanna Road
  • area around Nices Mill
  • Slab on Vaught Road
  • sections of Sulphur Springs Rd.
  • County Farm at the slab

Rutherford County Schools' Communications and Community Relations Coordinator James Evans has alerted parents and student drivers:

We are contacting you this morning about road conditions impacted by flooding.

We only have reports of one road closure this morning because of flooding and so Rutherford County Schools will be open.

But we have instructed our bus drivers to use their discretion if they encounter water on their routes. Please remind your student drivers to do the same and to use all necessary caution.

We will excuse any student who is late or cannot attend today because of road conditions affecting their route to school.

Murfreesboro Police PIO Larry Flowers reports, "Just checked with dispatch. There are no road closures within the city limits of Murfreesboro due to high water."
