A 39-year old Douglas Avenue man says he was robbed by three people, one claiming to be a police detective.

The victim told Murfreesboro Police Officer Benjamin Segrera the incident took place Saturday night after 11pm. He says he and a friend from Smyrna called a number from a Backpage-dot-com ad for a companion, but no one showed up.

However, later, a white female fitting the ad description, a black female and a black male showed up at his door. The black female identified herself as Detective Williams.

The victim was forced inside his home and to the kitchen table. That's when he was "questioned" about his Backpage request. One of the suspects took three-thousand dollars from his pocket and went through the home. Also taken was a 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun and two cell phones.

The victim says the black female, who was repeatedly referred to as detective, drank a beer while going through the home. The bottle was taken into evidence and detectives with M-P-D have taken over the investigation.
