Actual police report, charges

Murfreesboro Police made contact with an individual on East Northfield Boulevard Monday morning and seized over $2,000 in cash, over a pound of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine.

30-Year old Nicholas D. Ellis was getting into his vehicle at Kings Crossing Apartments when Officer Watson pulled up and spotted a clear bag containing what appeared to be marijuana. Ellis evidently dropped the bag when the officer approached. Police then searched the subject and found that he was armed with a .380 handgun. Police also recovered a small amount of cocaine in his pocket along with a second bag of marijuana in the trunk of his Maxima.

After Ellis was arrested, police seized his two cell phones, cash, drugs, digital camera and car. The drugs and camera are now in the evidence room at the police station and the car is parked in the MPD Vice lot.

Ellis was placed under a $9,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court on June 25, 2014.
